Hungry for more?

You could say that I'm doing a terrible time keeping up with this. Go on, say it! Any who, let's get you caught up..

The Volkswagen scene is becoming amazing. I recently bought a 1600 core. With the help of DAC I've been able to split it, and have someone who knows what he's doing guiding me. Sadly, the motor is trash. It's cracked, fucked, and watered. Just terrible. It was a good experience to split it, I've never seen or done that before. I'll have a new motor next week to start my build again.

Here's the motor when I tore it apart a few weekends ago. It was dirty, obviously, and it wouldn't turn over. One of the pistons had rusted itself to the cylinder, once I soaked it, it slid off fine. Splitting the motor showed us the real issues with it. The flywheel practically fell off, the nut was so loose. The pulley took a lot of force, and time to get off. Once it was split, you could see how shitty the inside was. It looked like it was full of cat litter, whatever it was, was disgusting. The case had to have been split before, you could just tell, from dents and cracks all of the seams. I haven't had a chance to test the heads yet, to see if they're even usable.

I do need to thank my fella, David. He's been fantastic in helping me with this. I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest girl in the world with him.

Enough dub talk! This weekend, I went to see the Drop Top Rockets at Velvet Elvis in Dallas. I loved the bar, I loved the band. It was such a great time. It certainly bums me right out that the rockabilly scene is so few here in town. We were the only ones there besides the band that was into it. But it was so good! They tore that place apart!! I caught a video of the guys rocking out, get it here.

I'm even more excited for this week, my kid brother is graduating from Army basics this week. We're driving  up tomorrow after work to see him. Bring on the waterworks.

You guys keep it real, I'll be back so soon ;)
