Hungry for more?

You could say that I'm doing a terrible time keeping up with this. Go on, say it! Any who, let's get you caught up..

The Volkswagen scene is becoming amazing. I recently bought a 1600 core. With the help of DAC I've been able to split it, and have someone who knows what he's doing guiding me. Sadly, the motor is trash. It's cracked, fucked, and watered. Just terrible. It was a good experience to split it, I've never seen or done that before. I'll have a new motor next week to start my build again.

Here's the motor when I tore it apart a few weekends ago. It was dirty, obviously, and it wouldn't turn over. One of the pistons had rusted itself to the cylinder, once I soaked it, it slid off fine. Splitting the motor showed us the real issues with it. The flywheel practically fell off, the nut was so loose. The pulley took a lot of force, and time to get off. Once it was split, you could see how shitty the inside was. It looked like it was full of cat litter, whatever it was, was disgusting. The case had to have been split before, you could just tell, from dents and cracks all of the seams. I haven't had a chance to test the heads yet, to see if they're even usable.

I do need to thank my fella, David. He's been fantastic in helping me with this. I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest girl in the world with him.

Enough dub talk! This weekend, I went to see the Drop Top Rockets at Velvet Elvis in Dallas. I loved the bar, I loved the band. It was such a great time. It certainly bums me right out that the rockabilly scene is so few here in town. We were the only ones there besides the band that was into it. But it was so good! They tore that place apart!! I caught a video of the guys rocking out, get it here.

I'm even more excited for this week, my kid brother is graduating from Army basics this week. We're driving  up tomorrow after work to see him. Bring on the waterworks.

You guys keep it real, I'll be back so soon ;)

Guess Who's Back?

So, I've returned. Why have a super sweet blog if I never use it?! I can't come up with an answer. With school about to start next week, I'm not so sure restarting this is such a grand idea, but what the hell.

I have a new addition to Dr. Thaddeus Venture, her name is Betty, and I'm in love with her. My roommate's (Calantha) Aunt stumbled upon her while walking her dogs, and she followed them home. I happened to be contemplating the idea of a cat for the past month or so, my sad little dog needs a playmate.

I decided it would work. She's one of the ballsiest kittens I've ever known. She was jumping all over cats, and dogs a million times larger than her!!! She's crazy, but so perfect. Now, I'm aware of the cat ladies, and I've poked enough fun at them, and I've told myself I wouldn't be crazy about any of my animals, but holy crap all I want to do is rant about how stupid adorable this kitten is, and because it's my blog, I feel I can rant all freakin week about her!!!

She has these monster ears that could eat her face, and she's perfectly affectionate, but still wildly crazy. Betty reminds me of my cat in Galveston, who was the most perfect thing in the history of things who happened to do ninja kicks off of the walls. We'll see how ninja like Betty becomes.

She is much smaller than I assumed, I was told she was ten months, when she's really only eight weeks. Her pictures don't help much, all of her features look larger. She has such a mature face, I love it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out golden with her.

ANYWAYS, I mentioned that school starts next week, I've been itching all summer to go back. I'm taking electrical as well as engine removal and installation. I'm, oddly, so excited about going back. Being super smart, and making all the boys just look silly. It's my fav.

I'll try to keep myself up with this, and try to bring some tutorials around (especially since I taught myself how to edit videos.) So, until next time, Adios amigos!

Alas, I've decided to start blogging. Trying to add a little excitement to my boring, repetitive life. I'm also starting a web show with my bff, links soon to follow!! The Rusty Side will totally bring you some juicy, behind the scenes goodness you all want to see. Right?! Anywho, I'm Alecia, I'm 23, I live in Tejas, so I sweat all of the time. More specifically, Dallas, who is trying to, sooo hard to come onto the map. It's cute. And have, you guys ever noticed the ball really isn't as close as it is in the pictures??

I have the greatest dog, you think you're dog is great? You're wrong, this dog is AHMAZING. He is the Rusty of the Conan.

See?? You love him already. His story will come one day, I'll grace you all with him :)

I work for the furniture superstore known for their particleboard. Can't say who it is, for they have a stick up their ass from here til Thursday. I work another job for my Dad, I sometimes do makeup for events. I'll eventually do simple makeup (and maybe hair) tutorials on here, so you have that to look forward to!

Besides work, I go to school, just part time, for auto mechanics. Yea. I love cars, they're my passion. Just as Rusty, music, and burritos. My love for them came from my Dad, and I love all of them. I have a very special place in my heart for hot rods, rat rods, and classics. I've recently gotten into imports. NOT RICE. I could go on for days about how hard I should beat those assholes, but I'll save it for a different rant on a different day. I plan on doing simple, like, basics you should know to take care of your car tutorials too. Because really?? You should just know, and somehow, a girl showing you isn't as scary as some big, gross dude.

So....have I interested you? You want to know more??? Tune in next week when....I type out another entry :)
